THE OPPORTUNITY
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas announces a search for a dynamic executive to lead the Council with energy, skill and determination.
CRITICAL GOALS
The CEO will emphasize goals in the following areas and be measured against them:
CEO QUALIFICATIONS
The CEO will possess solid and broad based business skills with a minimum of 5 years of comparable executive-level experience including profit and loss accountability, and 10 or more years in leadership roles of progressive responsibility. In addition, we seek excellence across a broad range of executive and managerial functions, including financial management, fund development, business development, planning, board relations, staff/volunteer relations, and the use of social media for business communications. It is expected that candidates will possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent mix of education, training, and experience with advanced education and training in fields relating to nonprofit leadership highly encouraged. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
Personal attributes of the CEO will include dedication to the mission of Girl Scouting in support of girls, and the drive to be the voice for girls throughout the counties served. The CEO will be a person of strong ideals and integrity who has a combination of vision, strategic, and operational planning abilities and who can serve as a role model of best management practices and solid decision-making. The new CEO will possess a style of leadership that embraces partnerships, is collaborative, and that empowers stakeholders to achieve their highest potential, all the while meeting mutually agreed upon accountability measures.
This position requires adeptness in working with girls and adults of many different backgrounds and upholding careful standards of supervised programming for minor children. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
The Council offers a competitive compensation plan commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual selected. There is a comprehensive benefits package, including generous time off, health, dental, vision and life/AD&D insurance options, self-directed retirement plan with limited match, and other attractive features. Relocation support will be considered.
THE COMMUNITIES AND JURISDICTION SERVED
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas serves 21 counties, covering a diverse mix of communities that include urban neighborhoods, suburban, and rural areas of various economic means. San Antonio centers this Council and is the seventh largest city in the nation. The bioscience and health care industry is a dominant force in San Antonio employing one of every six San Antonio employees. The energy sector in the counties served by the Council have benefited greatly from the development of the Eagle Ford Shale. The area has emerged as a national leader in the field of information/cyber security, and is home to a large concentration of military and intelligence agencies charged with the missions of intelligence. The six largest employers who have corporate headquarters in San Antonio are H-E-B, USAA, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, Cullen/Frost Bankers, Valero Energy, and Rackspace. The community benefits from the 14 colleges and universities located in Bexar and adjacent counties.
